The Rev. Frederick Mann
Senior Pastor. Oversight of Parish Liturgy, Staff and Adult Education
A native Floridian and raised in Central Florida, Fr. Fred received his B.A. at the University of Florida with a major in Psychology. After service in the United States Navy, he did his graduate training at Nashotah House Seminary in Wisconsin. He was ordained a Deacon on 29 June 1978 by Bishop William Folwell at Saint Luke’s Cathedral, Orlando, FL and ordained a Priest on 29 December 1978 by Bishop Arthur Vogel at Christ Church, Springfield, MO.
Fr. Fred has served as Assistant at Christ Church, Springfield, MO from 1978-80. In 1980, he returned to Central Florida as Assistant at Emmanuel Parish, Orlando until 1982. He was Rector of Saint Matthias Parish, Clermont, FL from 1982-86 and Rector of Holy Cross Parish, Sanford, FL from 1986-92. As a collateral ministry, he was Dean of Academic Programs for the diocesan Institute for Christian Studies from 1983-87. In 1993 he became Dean of the Episcopal Cathedral of Saint James, South Bend, IN and remained there until called as Rector of Saint Andrew’s at the beginning of 2004.
Areas of professional interest include Family Emotional Process and Leadership. Fr. Fred studied with Dr. Edwin Friedman for eight years prior to Dr. Friedman’s untimely death in 1996 and has done an extensive amount of consulting in parish leadership. His focus is congregational development, which includes developing the ministries of the parish family and broadening parish involvement in the larger diocese and community. He has been a deputy to General Convention five times.
Fr. Fred and his wife of 28 years, Denise, have two adult daughters: Mary, who graduated from Mizzou in 2007 and Madeline, who graduated from Mizzou in 2009.

Associate for Mission
The Rev. John Spicer
Coordination and Oversight of Social Concerns, Outreach and Mission beyond our parish. Oversight of Newcomer program.
The Rev. John Spicer, associate rector for mission, is primarily responsible for outreach, evangelism, and newcomer-incorporation ministry at Saint Andrew’s. Fr. John came to Saint Andrew’s after serving three years as vicar of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Springfield, Mo. He has a bachelor’s degree in writing from Southwest Missouri State University and a master’s in divinity from the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas. Fr. John was a writer and editor before being called to ordained ministry, working primarily in medical communication. His passion for ministry can be summed up in a quote from former Archbishop of Canterbury William Temple, who said, “The Church is the only organization that exists primarily for the sake of those who are not its members.” Fr. John and his wife, Ann, have two school-aged children, Kathryn and Daniel.
