St. Andrew’s is proud to sponsor the oldest Scouting program in Kansas City and we are nationally recognized for our excellence in programming.

This is a wonderful way to join with your son in a very rewarding ministry of our Church.

Cub Scouts

Cub Scouts start in first grade, Boy Scouts start in sixth grade, and boys of all ages are welcome at the various ranks.

For Cub Scouts, interested families should call or email Jennifer Furla, Cubmaster of Pack 16, at 816-591-5493.

Scouting at Saint Andrew’s dates back to 1922, and our Pack 16 has seen tremendous growth in recent years. Pack meetings are generally held once a month on Wednesday evenings at HJ’s Youth Center. The pack includes several dens of boys from 1st grade (Tiger Cubs) to 5th grade (second-year Webelos), and the individual dens meet regularly or participate in activities and field trips during the month.

Other pack activities include Day Camp, Bear Camp, Webelos Camp, a Pinewood Derby in the spring, an annual Family Picnic in May. Cub Scouts join Boy Scouts to commemorate the founding of the Scouting movement at a special service at St. Andrew’s on Scout Sunday, the first Sunday in February.

For more information, contact Cubmaster Jennifer Furla

Boy Scouts

Boy Scouts start in sixth grade, and boys of all ages are welcome at the various ranks.

Scouting has a long history at Saint Andrew’s; the relationship between Troop 16 and the church dates back to 1922. The troop meets at 7 p.m. every Monday night at HJ’s Youth Center. Our troop is extremely active; in addition to monthly campouts, the troop hosts the church’s annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and attends summer camp, as well as enjoying other activities. Boy Scouts is open to all boys who have turned 11 years old, are in the sixth grade, or have earned the Arrow of Light award.

For Boy Scouts, interested families should call Morgan Olander, Scoutmaster of Troop 16, at 913-748-4450 or you can visit their website!
