Simply Divine Arts Ministry
The Simply Divine Arts Ministry is a new group at St. Andrew’s that focuses on promoting fellowship through creative arts.
After each service this Sunday, visit the Jewell Room to view samples of what our next Art Ministry project will be. Our next project – learn how to make an Anglican Rosary – will only take ONE DAY and will take place Saturday, September 11, at 10 a.m. in the Library. It's easy to learn and a wonderful way to keep centered and focused when you pray. Make one for yourself, and stay to make one for Hospice. We have a sign-up sheet and a list of the materials needed so you can bring your own beads. Cost is $2 to cover needle, thread, spacer seed beads and glue. Come whenever you can; all rosaries need to be started no later than 1:15 p.m. Second day offering is Saturday, November 6. Questions? Call Joy Bower at 913-341-3087.
The Church has MICE??
We do! And the “church mice” have arrived in all their finery! There are short mice, tall mice, plump mice and thin mice with many different wardrobes. Some are prissy (with a bow on her tail), some are regal and some are even funny. Not that their creators chose them to look this way, but they seemed to dictate their own personality.
The mice brought laughs and many times disgusted remarks because during their construction their seamstresses didn’t have a clue as how they would turn out! But, with expert instruction from our teachers, we all walked away with mice that had personalities of their own and became members of St. Andrew’s themselves. If you happen to see our new “members,” you may want to create a church mouse of your own!
These mice were created by the Simply Divine Arts Ministry, a new group at St. Andrew’s that focuses on promoting fellowship through creative arts. For more information about upcoming classes, watch future for Messenger articles or contact
