Youth Ministry

Youth Ministry

Stand Youth MinistryYouth Ministry at STA has three main goals:

1. To foster a fun, safe and positive atmosphere where youth can grow closer to one another in Christ.

2. To draw young people to responsible participation in our church, our community, and our world.

3. To advance the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.

STAND is our ministry for 6th-12th grade students.  The youth ministry program encompasses Sunday morning Sunday School, Acolytes, Small Groups, Youth Group and Scouts.  Our youth group meets each week on Sundays from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. for food, fun and conversation. Middle school meets from 4:30-5:30 and high school meets from 5:30-6:30 in the church undercroft. Through prayer, scripture, service and fellowship, using anything from games to challenging discussions, we seek to explore and understand how God interacts in our daily lives.

You may be asking yourself why it’s called STAND.  No matter where they are in their personal faith journey, we seek to empower young people to find their voice, question their beliefs and make connections so that they may define for themselves what it is they STAND for.

Get Involved - Sunday Mornings at 9:15 a.m.

Middle School Group
In a mere 45 minutes we have fun, laugh, and discuss issues relevant to middle schoolers (grades 6-8), and show them how their relationship with church, God and Jesus is an invaluable one to develop as they journey through this time in their life.

High school Hang Out
High schoolers are invited to the Acolyte Room between services for donuts.  Catch up with your friends and share stories and pics from the weekend.

Parent Coffee Talk
Parents, are you looking for a way to connect with other parents of St. Andrew’s in a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying a delicious cup of coffee?  Then this is the group for you.  Join us on Sunday mornings at 9:15 at the stage end of the undercroft.

Boy Scout Pack and Troop 16

For more than 90 years, St. Andrew’s Troop 16 has been helping to turn boys into leaders physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually.  To learn more about its amazing ministry or to get involved, visit the Troop 16 website.  And check out an article by St. Andrew’s member and Troop 16 leader Dave Banks about why Boy Scout camp is the best thing ever.

What is Confirmation?
Confirmation is the rite in which we express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop.
