Our first Pet Ministry meeting is coming up where you’ll hear about our initial vision of the Pet Ministry at St. Andrew’s. We want to begin a ministry for pets, for families with pets, for parishioners, and people in our community who can benefit from the love and support or a visit from a pet, for students learning to read, and much more. Pets For Life will present the Orientation for the program to have your pet certified. The orientation meeting is the first step in becoming a certified pet therapy ‘team’. You will hear about the impact of pets upon people at all stages of life, the impact they have as children learn to read, a program that teaches children how to interact with pets safely, the basic commands your pet will need to have, and places you and your pet can do therapy visits. Even if you’re not quite sure if your pet would do well as a therapy pet, please come anyway. After hearing about the process of becoming a certified therapy pet you might see that your pet would do just fine. If you would like to invite a friend to come to the meeting please do. For this meeting, please leave your pet at home.
