The Rev. John Spicer
Fr. John came to St. Andrew’s in 2005 as assistant rector. In 2011, he became priest-in-charge and was called as rector in 2012. He and his wife, Ann, have two grown children, Kathryn and Dan. Fr. John loves writing and is the author of the book Beating the Boundaries: The Church God is Calling Us to Be. He believes passionately in the church’s call to mission, whether in our Brookside/Waldo neighborhood or with our partners in Haiti. In his spare time, Fr. The Rev. Anne Hutcherson
Mtr. Anne came to us in 2007, following ordination and a career traveling the world before unexpectedly landing in seminary. She has served as Associate Rector for much of her 10 years with us before taking retirement a bit more seriously and now is serving part-time. She continues some liturgical presence but is focused on her primary passion, pastoral care. Mtr. The Rev. Melissa Roberts George
Mtr. Melissa served as a healthcare chaplain for 14 years before joining St. Andrew’s as assistant rector in 2020. Her professional interests include contemplative prayer, self-care, and spiritual direction. She is passionate about deepening connection with God through active listening and building intentional community. Mtr. Melissa and her husband, Mark, are from Parsons, KS. The Ven. Bruce Bower
Deacon Bruce and his wife, Joy, have been members of St. Andrew's for over three decades. Once retired, Bruce pursued a calling to the diaconate and became ordained in 2014. He was assigned to serve at St. Andrew's to develop servant leaders and to pursue his passion for pastoral care ministries...bringing lay ministers into relationship with people in need of God's grace during times of challenge. He is also focused on bringing joy to worship. In 2016, Bishop Field appointed Bruce as archdeacon of the Diocese of West Missouri. His ministry also includes being pastoral leader of all the deacons in our diocese and representing them at the national church level. Director of Operations and Strategic Partnerships
Zach came to St. Andrew’s in the spring of 2018. He has a degree in business administration and a background in community engagement, including national service in AmeriCorps, where he proudly served two years in the Kansas City Public Schools. Youth Ministry Assistant
Amelia has been working at St. Andrew’s since the Summer of 2019. She is an assistant for our youth ministry program and is active in the church’s communications efforts. Amelia is also a Marketing student and will graduate in May of 2021. Nina has worked at St. Andrew’s for more than 10 years. She has a background in mathematics and has always worked in the finance world, mainly for a company that she and her husband owned. Worship Tech Coordinator
Adam and his wife, Kimberly, joined the parish in January, 2019. He worked in the HJ's Cafe and transitioned to the roll of worship tech coordinator in 2020. Adam has proudly served the city of Kansas City as a professional firefighter and EMT for 15 years. He is an active Freemason, loves to cook for a crowd, and enjoys serving others (especially coffee and espresso drinks). Minister for Families, Young Adults, and Community Relations
Jean has been a member of St. Andrew’s since 1997. She became children’s ministry director in 2005 and was in this position until 2011. In 2015, Jean joined the staff at St. Andrew’s once again as the youth ministry coordinator. She and her husband, Paul, have three girls. Ashley has been a member of St. Andrew’s since 1997. She has served many roles in the church including Sunday school teacher, nursery volunteer, Co-Directress of Altar Guild, and Vestry member. Sarah has a background in direct client service and non-profit management, specifically related to education and food access in Kansas City. She is a proud AmeriCorps alum. Sarah is passionate about forging authentic relationships and inviting people from the margins into the center. Dr. Thomas R. (Tom) Vozzella
Director of Music & Organist
Tom has served St. Andrew's as director of music and organist since 2014. He and his wife, Cathy, have one daughter, Ashley. Both mother and daughter sing in St. Andrew’s choirs. When not preparing and presenting music, Tom has served both the American Guild of Organists and American Choral Directors Association in leadership roles, locally, regionally, and nationally. Adult Formation Coordinator
Alice comes from the Presbyterian tradition, having earned a Master of Divinity degree from Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta. She has completed clinical pastoral education and a congregational internship, as well as having managed an overnight camping program at a camp and conference center in Arkansas. She is passionate about adult spiritual formation and particularly engagement with Scripture. She and her wife, Julianna, live in Overland Park.firstname.lastname@example.org
Matt was born in Overland Park, raised in Mission Hills, and graduated from the Pembroke Hill School and Southern Methodist University. He founded Oxbow Holdings, LLC, an oil and gas brokerage company, and remains its managing partner. After living in Dallas for about 12 years, Matt moved back to Prairie Village in February 2017. Matt is a cradle Episcopalian and has been at St. Andrew's since 2018.
Parish Care Liaison
Emily is a lifelong Episcopalian and became a member of St. Andrew’s in 2019, when she and her husband, Clay, moved to Kansas City from Cincinnati. Emily has taught grade school, served as a speaker to agencies and families to help prepare young children for school, and most recently worked as an evaluator for the Dayton universal pre-school program. She loves skiing, exercising outdoors, and drinking large quantities of tea, and dispersed camping. Emily and Clay have a 20-year-old son who lives in Cincinnati.
Dorothy Curry – a St. Andrew’s member since 1988, a late-in-life graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute, a founder of the Gordon Parks Elementary School, and a mother/grandmother/great-grandmother – is passionate about the future. She loves St. Andrew’s and all its inspiring, forward-looking outreach projects, particularly those involved in underserved children’s education. She is happy to be the Vestry liaison to the Outreach Commission, with its variety of missionary journeys.
Young Adult Ministry Liaison
Victoria has been a St. Andrew's member for about 20 years. Her journey as a young member of St. Andrew's was dedicated mostly to being an Acolyte, but also included volunteering in Sunday School and the Nursery! Currently, Victoria is a Compensation Analyst at AMC Theatres, where she has served since 2017, and she has been a Human Resources Professional for 8 years. Victoria is passionate about spending as much time as she can with friends and family and is also passionate about being involved in the Kansas City community!
Brian is a devoted father, grandfather, husband to Betsy (35 years) and dog whisperer to his Yellow Lab and Newfie. When not working as a Financial Planner and Wealth Advisor at Premier Financial Partners, you’ll find him enjoying time with his family, fly fishing, camping, extreme snow skiing, and Upland Bird and duck hunting.
Latoya has been a member of St. Andrew’s since 2016. She serves on the Altar Guild and Youth Ministry Commission, and she was part of the RenewalWorks task force discerning opportunities for the congregation’s spiritual growth. After spending 18 years in nonprofit and educational ventures, Latoya now works in the private sector for Clarkson Construction as the executive director and on-site ombudsman of the Terminal Workforce Enhancement Programs for the KCI Terminal and Parking Project. She has a daughter, Charlotte, and her hobbies include indoor cycling and learning more about caring for her backyard chickens.
Stephanie and her family have been members of St. Andrew's since 2016, when she, her husband, Keith, and daughter, Olivia, relocated to Kansas City from Southwest Louisiana. She has worked in the entertainment and hospitality industries, and most recently, worked as a consultant for a technology company. Stephanie is the convener for the Parish Engagement Commission and is an appointed member of the Data Vision Committee. She loves snow and beach family vacations, staying active, reading, and is committed to her volunteer work for Midwest Innocence Project.
Children's Ministry Liaison
Julia Jackson has been a lifelong member of St. Andrew’s. She teaches school workshop classes at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, where she has taught art since 1997. At St. Andrew’s, Julia is also a member of the parish choir and is involved in the theatre ministry. She is very active in the Daughters of the American Revolution and is an avid seamstress, voracious reader, and enthusiastic drinker of coffee.

Youth Ministry Liaison
While Erin was baptized as an Episcopalian, it wasn’t until recognizing her children’s spiritual needs that she found St. Andrew’s. She, and her husband Steve, began attending St. Andrew’s in 2010. Their two children, Morgan and Damon, are both active in the youth programs and can regularly be found acolyting on a Sunday morning. Erin is active in the youth ministry and is a proud co-host of St. Andrew’s Trivia Night. In addition to her work at St. Andrew’s, Erin is involved in the leadership of the KS-MO chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and is an author of fiction and non-fiction for adults and children alike.
Adult Christian Formation Liaison
Susan joined St. Andrew’s upon moving to Kansas City in 2018. Before that, she’d spent most of her life in the Washington, DC, area, and she majored in English at George Mason University. She’s worked in the advertising and travel industries, in public relations, and in healthcare philanthropy. Susan serves St. Andrew’s as a lector, a small-group facilitator, secretary of the Hospitality Commission and of Trinity Guild, a member of the 8-1-8 online prayer team, and as barista at HJ’s. She loves people, travel, reading, and long walks.
Junior Warden & Discernment Liaison
Ann has been a member of St. Andrews since 1998. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, in private practice for 30 years. She is active in the Discernment Commission and Trinity Guild, and previously, she organized the Backsnack program. Her passions include group therapy, teaching, reading, and all forms of art.
Ann has been a member since 1995. She was a hostess for TWA for 20 years and ran the Au Pair program for the American Institute for Foreign Study for 17. At St. Andrew’s, she has been involved in the Haiti mission, the OutReach Commission as Comptroller, Loaves and Fishes, assists in funeral coordinating, and is a past Sr. Warden.
Treasurer & Finance Liaison
Paul has been a member at St. Andrew’s since 2012. He owns and operates a business providing management services to senior living communities. His organization has been in business since 1992. At St. Andrew’s, Paul has served on the Vestry, Adult Formation, Parish Engagement, and Finance Commissions. His passions for ministry centers on the importance of listening to others tell their personal faith-life stories.

Melissa has been a member of St. Andrew's for 18 years. She has served in many roles, including garden guild, altar guild, facility commission, outreach commission, lector, Eucharistic Minister, Vestry member, Free Store Coordinator, and Sr. Warden. Her background has primarily been in the field of secondary education. She has done consulting work for the Family Conservancy and currently runs a small real estate development business with her husband, Stephen, in upstate New York. She is also a mom to three grown daughters who grew up at St. Andrew's. Melissa truly believes in the saying “paying it forward.” She finds true joy and passion in being with people who want to live each day to their fullest in helping others.
Greg has been a St. Andrew’s member since 1989. He is a Lawyer at Polsinelli, where he has served since 1983. At St. Andrew’s, Greg is also involved in the Vestry and currently serves as the Chancellor. He is passionate about his family and extended family that makes up St. Andrew's.
