Youth Ministry
Our youth ministry for 5th through 12th grade students is active in many areas of church life, including Acolytes, Scouts, and a Student Leadership Team.
We seek to empower young people – no matter where they are in their faith journeys – to find their voices, question their beliefs, and make connections so they may come to know for themselves what they stand for.
We have three main goals for our youth ministry:
- Foster a fun, safe, and positive atmosphere where youth can grow closer to one another in Christ.
- Draw young people into responsible participation in our church, our community, and our world.
- Advance the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.

Acolytes
Acolytes serve once a month at one of our Sunday services. Youth say their time as an acolyte has deepened their spiritual life. They grow in understanding and appreciation of worship, and they build new friendships.
Student Leadership Program
This program is open to 10-12 grade students who want to strengthen their leadership skills and grow in their faith. They help plan and lead Youth Group.
Youth Group
Youth Group is for kids in 5th through 12th grades. It meets September through April on Sundays from 3:30-5 p.m.
Other Youth Ministry Activities
Christmas Tree Lot
The Youth Ministry’s annual fundraiser allows youth and parents who work the tree lot to “earn” money for their individual accounts to help pay for any church-related activities, including the winter ski trip, mission trips, or other diocesan youth events.
Winter Ski Retreat
The winter ski trip, usually held in February, is an annual weekend of skiing, games, and fellowship in the Colorado Rockies.
Scouts BSA
Since 1922, St. Andrew’s Troop 16 has been helping develop young leaders physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. Our troop is extremely active; in addition to monthly campouts, the troop hosts the church’s annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and attends summer camp.
