Nate Hofer – Trailside Thursday

On Thursday, February 5 at 6 p.m., locally based photographer and musician Nate Hofer will discuss the inspiration behind his project Heartland Silos Decommissioned. Hofer was a 2024 TEDxKC speaker and performer on this subject and is the recipient of the 2021 Global Peace Photo Award, also known as the Alfred Fried Peace Medal.

This body of work looks toward the future by remembering the past. By highlighting Cold War–era disarmament, the project offers a note of hope for those concerned about our shared future—particularly as the world appears to be moving toward renewed nuclear arms competition and increasing polarization and nationalism.
